SFA Social Football Series

Staffordshire FA Social Football League is designed to welcome and inspire women (18+) into the game, to enjoy football in a relaxed, supportive environment. With small-sided, non‑competitive formats aligned with FA programmes, the events aim to remove barriers to participation and focuses on enjoyment, confidence and belonging — making football participation flexible & accessible to everyone, regardless of experience or ability.

Staffordshire FA Social Football Series is launching in October 2026, with monthly event dates at all locations in Stoke-on-Trent, Stafford & Wolverhampton. Enjoy a bit of football with friends, some music and meet new people in a relaxed environment. Simply book your place and turn up. We'll sort out everything else.

What you need:

Joining a Social Football event is pretty easy and no need to worry if you've never played before. You don't need any specific football kit, generic sports clothing is more than adequate, however we do require shinpads to be worn. As all our events are delivered on 3G pitches, we recommend have astro trainers or plastic/molded studded boots (not metal studs). We also recommend you bring a drink of water and check the weather forecast for appropriate clothing.

What to expect on the day:

On the day of the event, we recommend arriving at the event 10 minutes before the start time so you have time to get parked up, get yourself to the pitch, checked in and ready to play, so we can start on time and maximise playing time. When you arrive at the location of your event, please head towards the 3G Pitch. Hopefully you'll see our Social Football signage to help get you to the right space. When you arrive, please check in with our Staffordshire FA staff member.

We'll get the players sorted into teams for the evening, get the music playing, allow players a few minutes to get warmed up and games kicked off. We'll aim for 5v5, 15 minute games, but depending on the number of attendees, this may vary between events. At the end of the hour, we'll get all equipment in and you'll be free to catch up with other players, or head off home.

We ask for details of ethnicity and disability for equal opportunities monitoring purposes. Monitoring is recommended by the codes of practice published by the Equality and Human Rights Commission to eliminate discrimination and promote equality. This is extremely helpful and enables us to keep confidential and anonymous records of the people who officiate in our national sport. By doing this we can spot any inequalities and work with local communities to encourage more people to Get into Football. However, we totally respect your privacy and whilst it would be really helpful if you completed this section, it is not compulsory.
