Our mission is to deliver top-tier coach development experiences, offering unparalleled support, mentoring, and networking opportunities for coaches across Staffordshire. The Staffordshire Coach Development Network is designed to serve coaches at every level, whether you're a playmaker coach or hold a pro license.
What will the Coach Development Network (CDN) offer you?
The CDN will give you free access to over 200 hours of Coach Development events, Coach Mentoring & networking opportunities. We have a dedicated team of Coach Development Leads & Coach Development Mentors who will provide you with the best support, advice and progression. The CDN operates from January - May 2025, as part of the CDN you can expect;
- Monthly Face 2 Face Coach Development/ Networking events
- Access to bespoke Coach development programme
- Priority booking to Stoke City CPD events
- Free access to 6 FA CPD events (Costs £5 per event)
- Access to CDN WhatsApp group
- Access to 3 Staffordshire based Coach Development Leads
- Tier 2 access to a Coach Mentor
- Tier 2 access to a specific Mentor WhatsApp group
- Access to free coaching resources
- Rewards such as kit & equipment - England Tickets
- Free access to The Staffordshire Coaching Conference
- Coaching assessment days
- Free access to prepare for UEFA C & UEFA B events
- Support in UEFA C & UEFA B Coaching applications

Martyn Irvine - Staffordshire Coach Development Lead & UEFA C course deliver for the FA.
Martyn has has been a coach for 19 years and is a Stoke City fan. Martyn's coaching inspirations are;
Jurgen Klopp, Martyn loves the way he gets his teams playing and how he develops individuals. Martyn also has a lot of admiration for Eddie Howe too, but Martyn's idol is Sir Bobby Robson.
There have also been a lot of coaches who have had an impact on the way Martyn coaches and therefore there is a special shout out to;
Sally Needham, Martin Ho, Ronnie Reason, Andy Somers, Michelle Wilcock, Dr Noel Dempsey, Lee Garlick, Gavin Nelson to name but a few.
David Ebberson - Staffordshire Coach Development Lead & UEFA C course deliver for the FA.
David has coached for over 15 years and is a Wycombe Wanderers fan. David's coaching inspirations are Jose Mourinho, Marcelo Bielsa & Martin O'Neil (for taking Wycombe to Wembley !)
Daniel Waller - Staffordshire Coach Mentor
Daniel has coached for 15 years and supports Swindon Town. Dan's coaching inspiration is Sir Alex Ferguson !
Lee Foyle -Staffordshire Coach Mentor
Lee has coached for 13 years and supports Port Vale. Lee's coaching inspiration is Jose Mourinho !
Alex Scott - Staffordshire FA (Senior Participation & Workforce Lead) - CDN Strategic lead
Alex has been a Coach for 11 years and supports West Brom. Alex's coaching inspirations are Gary Megson (WBA legend!) and Jose Mourinho.
