Workshop Content:

Have you ever thought about why you coach the way you do, or why you have certain beliefs around your coaching and football?

This two hour theory workshop will provide you some thought provoking activities and exercises to look at answering these questions you may ask yourself as a coach. Led by our County Coach Developer, Mark Haining, coaches will be able to look at behaviours they display, and their own values and beliefs which may influence how they coach and how they view football as a sport.
If you have never thought about what your coaching philosophy is, this workshop will enable you to look it is, what makes a coaching philosophy and how to begin to construct your own.

The session will provide:

  • An opportunity to look at your behaviours and reasoning behind why you, as a coach, do the things in the way that you do
  • An opportunity to think about your club and the history, traditions and values of it and how you can implement this into your sessions.
  • Discussions around values and beliefs and the impact they will have on your coaching philosophy
  • Information on developing your own philosophy
  • A chance to meet like minded people, share ideas and reflect

  • Note taking materials (Recommended)
