Notts FA Mental Health League Ambassador Role
(YOUTH LEAGUE ROLE)
Nottinghamshire FA in partnership with Nottinghamshire MIND are looking to appoint voluntary mental health ambassadors for every youth and adult league across Nottinghamshire to become part of the leagues core committee.
About the role
Nottinghamshire FA are passionate about using football as a tool to beat stigma around mental health. Notts FA would like all affiliated leagues to look to appoint a mental health ambassador. The ambassador would be the main point of contact for players, coaches and volunteers and help promote where people can go and seek help ensuring everyone has somebody to talk to. All ambassadors will be trained and supported directly from Nottinghamshire MIND throughout the duration of the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively promote local and national mental health services that players, coaches, volunteers and spectators can access for further support and advice around their own personal mental health or others.
- Run campaigns days with your league linking in with Nottinghamshire MIND Campaigns and National awareness days to promote and shout about mental health issues and where people can go for support.
- Have an active role on the league committee to ensure the league are offering support and a voice to all involved in the league.
- Actively promote your services over social media/ media campaigns.
- Actively use Nottinghamshire MINDs referral process to help players, volunteers, coaches, spectators get the right support and information.
Pre-requirments + Training
All mental health ambassadors must have an in-date FA CRC and safeguarding qualification. Training will be provided from Nottinghamshire MIND, ambassadors volunteering from an adult league will be invited to attend a course 18th and 25th November and ambassadors volunteering from an youth league will be invited to attend the course 2nd and 9th December.
There will be 2 workshops delivered, one focusing on adult mental health and the other regarding youth mental health.
