The physical development of girls football players

Delivered by – Matthew Wright, Sports Development Officer (performance sport) at Teesside University and physical performance coach at Teesside Sport FA Girls' Regional Talent Club

This session will look at the unique challenges in relation to the physical development of girls players, throughout maturation, in order to both improve athletic performance and reduce injury risk. It will provide a mixture of theory and practical and give both an insight into the physical training within a girls Regional Talent Club as well as practical solutions that can be applied to grassroots football.
