  • Qualified Active Specialist PE Teacher (QTS)
  • Currently working in a school with students aged between 12-19
  • Provide a letter from the Head Teacher confirming the teacher’s status, role at the school, that courses will only be run on the school site and the school have the relevant policies and procedures in place:
    1. Insurance
    2. Safeguarding, including safer recruitment
    3. Health & safety
    4. Equality
    5. Designated welfare person
  • Once the letter has been received by the FA tutor workforce team and familiarisation has been completed, the teacher will then be licenced to deliver the “JFL student” courses to pupils within their own school environment and considered a “JFL Teacher”
  • A renewal letter from the school will then be required every 3 years in order to confirm all policies and procedures are still in place and the teacher is still working at the relevant school. If a JFL teacher changes schools, a new letter will be required from the new Head Teacher in order for the teacher to remain active.
  • JFL Teachers will be required to deliver a minimum of one JFL course every 2 years to remain an active JFL Teacher.
  • If the teacher wishes to deliver the JFL student course outside of their own school setting, they will then need to meet the “JFL Tutor” requirements. Please contact the FA Learning Tutor Workforce Team for more information on these requirements as they are different from the “JFL Teacher” criteria.
