Online Learning
Prior to attending the face-to-face training of the course, learners MUST complete the online module, FA Laws of the Game: https://falearning.thefa.com/course/view.php?id=1804

Failure to do so, will mean you cannot attend the face-to-face course dates.
Safeguarding

The course dates and times are as follows:

Learners must attend all sessions to complete the course.
Once learners have attended the face-to-face course, they must complete a minimum of 5 matches as a referee to become qualified. Details on how to record these games will be provided.
The course fee is £110 for all age groups.
Course Requirements
The course involves practical sessions which will take place outside on either grass or 3G football pitches. Learners will need to be prepared with suitable clothing and footwear for outdoor work, including shin pads and waterproof clothing in case of inclement weather.
Learners will need to bring their own food, water and refreshments.
FA DBS Checks
Learners who aged 16 and above who intend to referee youth football matches will need to have an in-date FA DBS check, in addition to completion of the Safeguarding Children Course. We will provide instructions on how to apply online for a DBS before the course begins.
Youth football includes competitions or matches involving under 18 teams or younger. Referees in open age football are not required to have a DBS although this may be subject to change in the future. They are required to have completed the Safeguarding Children Course.
Parental Consent
If learners enrolling on the course are under 18 years of age, parental consent MUST be provided. If parental consent is not given, the learner will not be able to attend the face-to-face elements of the course.

If you suffer from a condition that you believe may affect your involvement on a course on either the practical or theoretical elements, please notify us immediately of any support you may require and we will make every effort to ensure that you are supported throughout the course of delivery and given every opportunity to successfully attain the relevant course award.
Please note, that all courses will be conducted in English and therefore candidates are required to be able to communicate effectively in English (this includes listening, speaking, reading and writing).
