Workshop Overview

"If you can't see it, you can't coach it". This workshop aims to support coaches with a deeper understanding of the principles of play, allowing coaches to be able to address game problems within training or matchday. The better our understanding, the better we can help our players, and the better we can manage our expectations as coaches across the age groups.

Who is it for?

Coaches that want to build confidence in their understanding of the game.

What to expect

• Theoretical and practical delivery around the principles of play, and how we can observe and intervene with them.

Outcomes

• Importance of observation when coaching.
• Notice that when something in a game isn't effective, it is probably because the principles of play are not being implemented effectively.
• Recognise that a poor understanding of the game often impacts on a positive environment.
