Preparing for competition (Chelmsford Workshop)

Workshop Overview

Even though players will play the game for different reasons (participation, progression and / or performance), there will come a time where players will participate within tournaments, cups and competition, where an increased focus will be placed upon winning and performing. 

This workshop looks at how we as coaches can best prepare ourselves and our players to maximise these experiences, to not only increase the chances of success within competition, but also ensuring that it is a memorable and exciting experience for all.

Who is it for?

Coaches that want to better prepare themselves and their players for cups, tournaments and competition.

What to expect

• Theoretical and practical delivery around preparing for competition around the pillars of Preparation and Planning, Player Management, Game Management and Creating a Positive Experience.

Outcomes

• Develop an understanding of how to prepare players for the demands of competition.
• Develop coaching and organisational strategies to help players during the game, and across the competition.
• Develop player strategies to help themselves during the game, and across the competition.
