Disability Specific: Effective Practice Design (Witham Workshop)
Workshop Overview
As volunteer coaches, we often have little time to effectively plan our sessions, which consequently makes it difficult to then adapt them in the moment.
This workshop aims to support a coaches understanding of practice design through highlighting a variety of practice shapes, manipulations and progressions / regressions to help you manage your own time more effectively, but also better support the needs of your players.
Who is it for?
Coaches who support players with a disability (Physical Impairments, Neurodiversity, Health Conditions) who are looking at developing a wide range of practice design tools to aid their planning and delivery. Coaches who would like support to ensure their session designs include players with a broad spectrum of impairments and health conditions to play together.
What to expect
- On the Pitch delivery only
- Theoretical discussion around practice design.
- Lots of Practical delivery highlighting a variety of practices and effective manipulations
Outcomes
- Be able to organise and plan sessions more effectively and efficiently.
- Understand how different practice designs and manipulations bring about different outcomes.
- Highlight some best practice around supporting the needs of your players through practice design
