Designing effective practices (Witham Workshop)

Developing Football Fitness - Practical Workshop


Workshop Overview

This workshop aims to support coaches in considering the planning process of plan, do, review, in addition to how we can consider realism, relevance and repetition, as well as other planning models to support the development of skilful players in the game.


Who is it for?

Coaches who are looking at developing their skill in creating practices that help players transfer their learning over to the game.


What to expect

  • Theoretical discussion around the planning process, the three R's (realism, repetition, relevance), the Planning Model and the STEP model.
  • Practical delivery highlighting the impact of the above on the players decisions and behaviours.


Outcomes

  • Be able to consider the key elements of practice design.
  • Understand and be able to observe the impact of practice manipulations on player decisions and behaviours.
  • Utilise the plan, do, review process to inform future pracitce design.
