BBC Essex Senior Cup Final - Referee CPD

It's more than just a match! As well the hugely-anticipated BBC Essex Senior Cup Final which will take place between Canvey Island or Chelmsford City and Hornchurch, in which we're staging a refereeing workshop at the JobServe Community Stadium, Colchester United FC.


From 18:15, we'll be joined by FIFA and Select Group One Referee, Sam Barrott, to share his knowledge and experiences as well as how to progress, develop and improve your refereeing skills.


Please note, Sam's attendance is pending international appointments.



Sam began his refereeing journey following on from a injury while playing football and start refereeing on the Huddersfield Junior Football League. In his career to date Sam has refereed the West Riding FA Senior County Cup Final (2018), the National League North Play-Off Final (2020) and the English Football League (EFL) League One Play-Off Final (2024) between Bolton Wanderers and Oxford United.
