Course: Pre-Season Training Workshop

Date: Thursday  5th July

Time: 6:30 – 9:00pm

Venue: ERCFA

Description: The East Riding County FA is holding a free of charge pre-season coaching workshop to enable local football clubs to plan and deliver a high intensity pre-season training programme. A good pre-season is a must for all professional players, but it is also hugely valuable for all children, youth, amateur and junior players. For managers and coaches across the County, structuring their team's pre-season programme correctly can make a huge difference to their prospects for the season as well as the long-term development of their players. Whilst lapping around local parks or informal sessions are fine for keeping fitness ticking over, there is no substitute for a suitably structured pre-season training programme. The session is aimed at educating coaches about the importance of various aspects of a pre-season training programme including aerobic and anaerobic training as well as developing motor control movements such as balance, co-ordination, speed, agility and reaction time and the importance of trying to incorporate these into sessions. The session will also provide an insight as to what age players develop certain physical qualities and when players typically reach their optimum in a certain physical attribute.
