Titled ‘Level 1 Winter Pitches: Annual Preparation and Maintenance’, this expert-led event will raise awareness of what is involved in maintaining winter Football pitches. The sessions are ideal for volunteers and employees, who maintain their clubs own pitches

•    Assessment of surface

•    Sequence of annual maintenance

•    Mowing, scarification, verti-cutting, harrowing

•    Irrigation

•    Fertiliser application

•    Top dressing

•    Aeration and surface drainage

•    Brushing and drag-matting

•    Rolling

•    Seeding

•    Line marking: Setting and marking out; marking compounds

•    Turf problems: Weeds, pests and diseases

•    Safe and effective use of equipment

The course is priced at ONLY £65, which includes a 50% subsidy from Durham County FA.
