‘Disability Awareness Workshop for Club Officials’

The course is designed for club officials who are most likely to be the first point of contact for parents who make enquiries. The course will cover terminology, disability types, adapting things (non-sporting), marketing for disability, Equality and the law and ethics and inclusion using theory.

The sessions will be delivered by ‘SMILE Through Sport’. SMILE Through Sport CIC is a not for profit organisation founded in 2013 by Paralympian Stephen Miller MBE. It combines the services of inspirational speaking, training courses and disability sport development. Working throughout the North East of England, we have a growing and dedicated team that is passionate about disability sport. We work with all types of organisations from schools to private businesses. We work closely with clients to provide a bespoke and tailored service that suits their needs.
