Football Futures Club
Requirements - Age 14 - 18 with an interest in volunteering in Football in one or more of the following areas:
Theme 1-Coaching and working with teams
You could help to coach and/or manage a football team at a local club, or at your school or college.
Theme 2- Refereeing
You could referee on a voluntary basis in various leagues. Alternatively, you could get involved in Dorset FA football festivals. If you decide to take it further you could complete your Basic Refereeing Qualification and progress to refereeing 11 a side football.
Theme 3- Running Events
You could assist with the organisation, coordination and delivery of leagues, Ability Counts Festivals and Futsal events in the County or at your school/college. You could get involved in mini soccer festivals, club tournaments, fundraising events, or disability events within the Dorset FA.
Theme 4- Running and Developing the Game
For those whose interests may lie within organisation or administration, there are a number of opportunities within the Dorset FA to volunteer behind the scenes in Charter Standard Clubs. Volunteers could help with running and organising leagues in the County or at their school/college.
Theme 5- Promoting the Game
Are you familiar with facebook and Twitter? You could help with the development of social networking groups and keep everything or everyone up to date. You could develop a club website, or design posters/leaflets and create different ways to promote football in your community. You could gain voluntary hours by writing match reports, press releases, website or newsletter articles or taking photographs to use for promoting a club, or just football in general.
Theme 6- Respect
This role could involve supporting teams in a particular league, making sure that all teams understand competition rules and regulations. Also helping to develop a code of conduct and ensuring that players/ coaches/spectators sign up and stick to it. Promote the Respect campaign within a club or league. Really make a difference to game by making it enjoyable for all involved.
