The FA Referee Course

Overview

The FA Referees' Course provides an introduction to officiating 11v11 and 9v9 football. The course will introduce learners to The Laws of the Game and their application, delivered through theory and practical elements focusing on the knowledge, skills and attributes required to operate safely and effectively in grassroots football.


Minimum Age

Learners must be 14 or over on the course start date.

Safeguarding Requirements

Referees who are 14/15 years old 

  1. Complete     free 1 hour Safeguarding For All LINK HERE (valid for two years)

 All other Referees who are 16+ can;

  1. Complete     free 1 hour Safeguarding For All LINK HERE (valid for two years) 
  2. Complete     the new Online Safeguarding Children Course (£30) LINK HERE (valid for two years with continual free     recertification) 


Qualification

Upon successful completion of the Online Guide to the Laws of the Game, Safeguarding Workshop, the 11 hours face to face course and 5 games, learners will be classified as either a Level Y/YW Referee (if aged 14 or 15) or a Level 7/4W referee (if aged 16 or above).

Course Venue: Lanivet Community Centre, Carters Parc, Rectory Rd, Lanivet, Bodmin PL30 5HG 

Dates: Monday 24th April 2023 - 6pm-9pm & Sunday 30th April 2023 - 9am-5pm

Course Fee: £120 (Includes all training modules, materials and 1st Season Referee Registration)

Learners should not book onto the face to face training without having first completed the Online Guide to the Laws of the Game and the appropriate online safeguarding course.
