Course Information:

  • Minimum Age: 14
  • Course Duration: Minimum of 8 Guided Learning Hours, 6 Notional Learning Hours
  • Course Prerequisites:Existing Mini Soccer Referee qualification
  • Who is it for: This course is open to anyone who is interested in officiating 9v9 or 11v11 football who already has a mini soccer referee qualification.
  • Course aims and objectives:  To provide learners with an introduction to 9v9 or 11 aside refereeing, identifying the skills required to effectively referee games in this format. Following the initial training the candidates will be expected to referee a minimum of six games before returning for a review session during which their knowledge of Law will be assessed. .
  • Leading to: Full Referee Status

Course Content:

The course consists of 2 modules with the following elements:

  • Differences between Mini soccer and the 11 a side game (6 GLH’s)
  • Reviewing your role as a Referee (2 GLH’s)
  • Practical Involvement: Candidates will be encouraged to participate practically to maximise their opportunities for learning (The qualification cannot be completed unless the six games are officiated).

Assessment:  All workbook tasks must be completed and evidenced documentation of the student’s six games experience completed and verified by the Tutor and the examination completed in Unit 2.

Mini Soccer Referee Bolt-On Conversion Course

This course is designed for those who are looking to convert their Mini Soccer Referee Qualification into a full 11-A-Side Referee Qualification. You will be consolidating your referee knowledge while learning new material to aid in your transition from Mini Soccer to Full 11-a-side games.

Following this, you will then go out to officiate five (5) games of 11-a-side football in a Sunday Youth league.
You will then return for a fifth module to review your role and become registered as a Level 7/8 referee with the County FA after successful approval. The final session is noted below: 


Following this you will be allocated to a local league where you will have to complete your 5 matches before returning for the Module 5

Our Venue is just of Newton Road onto a small B road. Our offices are situated just after a field and is the first left. This is just before a bend in the road.   


The cost of this course is £50.00 per candidate 


Terms and Conditions for booking a course: 

Unfortunately due to an increasing number of candidates cancelling at late notice, it is with regret that we have had to make changes to our booking policy. Therefore the Birmingham County FA has introduced a strict cancellation and transfer policy. Should a candidate or candidates need to cancel their place on a course for any reason, the following criteria will apply:

Should a candidate or candidates wish to cancel their attendance on the course, candidates must inform Birmingham County FA immediately. All our courses are in demand and by not advising us you are preventing another candidate from attending.

Cancellation:

Should a candidate need to cancel their place on a course for any reason, the following criteria will apply:

-       21 days or more notice – Full refund less a £10 administration charge.

-       Less than 14 days’ notice – No refund will be given.

To book onto a future course, the candidate will need to enrol again with full payment.

Transfer:

The Birmingham County FA do not have a transfer policy. If a candidate is booked onto a course, their place is confirmed for that course alone. If they would like to cancel their place, they will need to do this following the “cancellation” policy. To book onto a future course, the candidate will need to enrol again with full payment.

Missed Sessions:

If a candidate cannot make a date on the course they are enrolled on, a decision will be made on whether they are allowed to complete the course on a case by case basis. If the reason is deemed appropriate, a fee of £20 per session missed will need to be paid to complete the course. This will be at the discretion of the County FA.

*Note: If the sessions missed are either the Safeguarding Children Workshop or Emergency First Aid, a fee of £30 per course will need to be paid to attend these aspects.

Birmingham County FA does not accept any responsibility for the loss, or damage to, candidate property or for personal injury, however caused.

You will respect the course tutor, course venue and other candidates and their points of view and you will understand that if your behaviour, language or conduct is deemed ‘unacceptable’ ‘offensive’ or ‘harmful’ for any reason, Birmingham County FA reserves the right to exclude you from continuing on your chosen course and if necessary, future courses.
