This CPD event is for Club and League Welfare Officers and other members of your club who may be interested.

1st November

7-9pm

At Beds FA,

Skimpot Road, Dunstable LU54JU

We have a guest speaker from the Bedfordshire Police who will deliver a 2 part presentation on

Digital Safeguarding and Knife/Gang Crime Awareness

The first part of the presentation is on Digital Safeguarding:

The internet is a wonderful and diverse place, filled with incredible information resources, but it can also be a place of concern with regards to child safety.

This awareness session is led by an experienced expert in digital safeguarding and child protection from Bedfordshire Police. Attendees will discuss some of the current risks/threats children and young people face online as well as available signposting tools and resources..

The session will focus on unwanted contact, cyberbullying and peer to peer self-generated indecent images.

It promises to be informative, engaging and worthwhile.

The second half of the session will focus on youth violence and gangs:

"Knife crime, serious youth violence and gangs are an ongoing concern in Bedfordshire and the rest of the UK. As part of the workshop there will also be a focus on these evolving issues with information around the potential warning signs that someone is involved in this activity and what to do if concerns manifest”

Places are limited but if clubs would like to bring any of your officers or coaches along, please do. It will be thought-provoking and valuable for all of us working with children.

This free session will last approx. 2 hours.
