Course Information: 

  • Tuesday 28 February 2012 - 6.00pm - 9.00pm
  • Dallam School - Haverflatts Lane, Milnthorpe, Cumbria, LA7 7DD
  • Minimum Age: 14 years
  • Course Duration: 3 hours
  • Who is it for: This course is for individuals wishing to understand more how to coach goalkeepers individually or as part of a group
  • Course aims and objectives: The aim of this course is to provide candidates with an introduction to the coaching techniques and skills required to coach goalkeepers succesfully. This course will help candidates organise and deliver basic goalkeeper coaching practices.

Course Content:

  • Introduction to the basic techniques required to coaching goalkeepers
  • Outline the fundamental handling and movement skills required by goalkeepers
  • Develop an understanding of practices specifically for goalkeepers or coaching as part of a whole team practice
  • Develop an awareness of the part coaches can play in the development of young goalkeepers

Practical Involvement: Candidates will be encouraged to participate practically to maximise their opportunities for learning. (This however will not prevent successful completion of the award)

Assessment: There is no formal assessment.

Refresher: No refresher required.
