Course Overview:

This UEFA Goalkeeping B Licence is for coaches working with elite goalkeepers within the EPPP/WSL programme.
This qualification satisfies the EPPP rules and regulations which state that Academy Goalkeeping Coaches require the UEFA B Coaching Licence and the FA Goalkeeping B Licence.’

Course pre-requisites:
The FA Level 2 in Coaching Goalkeepers
The FA Level 2 Coaching Licence

Who is it for?:
The UEFA Goalkeeping B Licence course is for goalkeeping coaches who want to coach within the Football League/Premier League EPPP programme and within the Women's Super League (WSL).


Course content:

Practical demonstrations include:
Goalkeeping Practices
Goalkeeping Tactical Games
OOP - Support/Defend the Space/Area/Goal
IP - Support/Play - Round/Through/Into/Onto/Beyond
Variety of Set Play Delivery 

Theory includes:
The role of the Goalkeeping Coach
Profiling Goalkeepers
Goalkeeping Physical Performance
Performance Analysis of Goalkeeping
Goalkeeping Performance Psychology
Differentiation between the Male and Female game
Session Design/Plan/Delivery/Reflection 

Observed coaching practices to include:
Block 1: Goalkeeping Practices
Block 2: Goalkeeping Tactical Games

Club Support Day:
1 x 25 Minute Practice: Goalkeeping Practices
1 x 25 Minute: Goalkeeping Tactical Games
30 Minute Oral Interview

Course Assessment:

Assessment will consist of:
Recorded coaching in log book/portfolio
Devising a development programme
Goalkeeper performance analysis
Minimum of six hours personal coaching recorded 6 x 60 minute sessions
Record of planning, conducting and evaluating your sessions
Evidence of understanding principles of goalkeeping in individual and team practices
 
Practical sessions:

Oral Interview 30 Minutes 

Dress code:

Standard dress code on the course is casual. For practically based courses, please bring sufficient outdoor kit/clothing for the duration of the course.

Should the course require any alternative dress, this will be detailed in the course joining instructions. 

Medical information/physical requirements:

If you have any medical conditions which limit/hinder your involvement or participation in coaching activities, you are obliged to declare any relevant, current or previous injuries/illnesses. If you are diagnosed as an asthmatic, diabetic or epileptic, or have any allergies that the course staff needs to be aware of, you must advise us accordingly. Please note, a declaration of injury or illness does not automatically preclude you from any course.

You should further be aware that if you are on a regular course of medication for any condition, you must have sufficient medication to cover you throughout the course. Although first aid cover is provided (where applicable) during courses, no doctor is available to replenish regular medication, nor is there any facility to deliver medical treatment for chronic (longstanding) medical conditions.

Please provide any relevant information regarding the above Medical Information during the application process.

If your application to enrol is successful learners will be required to complete a Medical Form prior to commencing the course. 

Practical Information:

Please note that if a learner has a disability that may prevent them participating actively in the practical sessions, then this should be made known to the course organiser at the point of registration. The course organiser will then take any necessary steps to cater for the learners requirements which may include bringing in footballers to ensure there are sufficient numbers of players.

Filming and Photography:

Please be aware that filming and photography of our courses and/or learners may take place as part of the course delivery. Such filming and/or photography may be used for the following purposes:

(i) to assist coaches at the club with their professional development;
(ii) for wider coach education purpose; and
(iii) for promotional purposes such as online advertising campaigns of our courses. We might also share this footage or photos with local and national media.

To start your application, enter your FA Number (FAN) and password below. Applications will be considered after the application deadline (14 December 2020) with outcomes provided on 12 January 2021. Should you be successful in gaining a place you will be sent an online payment link. Payment must be made 1 month prior to the start of the course otherwise your place will be offered to another learner.
