Course Overview:

This is a course designed for leaders in the Talent Identification field who are active in the professional game and are keen to progress their learning.  You will develop the skills to help you respond in a variety of situations that senior scouting staff regularly face. You will learn effective ways to manage your scouting teams capacity as well as discovering new methods to lead an effective, high performing talent identification department. 

Course Pre-requisites:
-Hold a valid FA Safeguarding Children qualification
-FA Level 2 in Talent Identification in Football is desirable
To support this application, you are required to send a supporting letter from your line manager outlining your suitability for this course and how it forms part of your ongoing professional development. Please send this to Jack Grant via email (education@thefa.com) within seven working days of your application.
Applications will be reviewed by the FA after the application deadline (14 December 2020). FA Education will contact you with the outcome of your application by 12 January 2021.

Priority of applicants:

1. Those who require the qualification as part of the Premier League's Elite Players Performance Plan (EPPP)

2. Individuals currently working as Head of Recruitment within professional football and possess the Level 3 in Talent Identification
3. Individuals currently working as Head of Recruitment within professional football 
4. Individuals who club identify as having the potential to become a Head of Recruitment
5. Individuals the FA identify as having the potential to become a Head of Recruitment

NB: Should we receive high number of applications we will only be able to accept 1 learner per club. 

Course content:

The course consists of 5 modules:
Module 1 : Leading myself and others
Module 2 : Negotiation and influencing people
Module 3 : Current trends in the Talent Identification in Football
Module 4 : Ethics, values and governance in Talent Identification
Module 5 : Strategic planning

If you have any medical conditions which limit/hinder your involvement or participation in coaching activities, you are obliged to declare any relevant, current or previous injuries/illnesses. If you are diagnosed as an asthmatic, diabetic or epileptic, or have any allergies that the course staff needs to be aware of, you must advise us accordingly. Please note, a declaration of injury or illness does not automatically preclude you from any course.

You should further be aware that if you are on a regular course of medication for any condition, you must have sufficient medication to cover you throughout the course. Although first aid cover is provided (where applicable) during courses, no doctor is available to replenish regular medication, nor is there any facility to deliver medical treatment for chronic (longstanding) medical conditions.

If your application to enrol is successful candidates will be required to complete a Medical Form prior to commencing the course. 

Practical Information:

Please note that if a student has a disability that may prevent them participating actively in the practical sessions, then this should be made known to the course organiser at the point of registration. The course organiser will then take any necessary steps to cater for the students requirements which may include bringing in footballers to ensure there are sufficient numbers of players.

Please be aware that filming and photography of our courses and learners may take place as part of the course delivery.

To start your application enter your FA Number (FAN) and password below. Application will be considered after the application deadline (14 December 2020) with outcomes provided on 12 January 2021. Should you be successful in gaining a place you will be sent an online payment link. Payment must be made 1 month prior to the start of the course otherwise your place will be offered to another learner.
