Fees Explanation - what will my course fee be?

The basic course fee is £85.00.

Candidates
aged 16 and above are required to complete an FA CRC (Criminal Records Check) and only if they have not already done one through The FA.  (The cost of an online CRC check is currently £10.00). Once you have enrolled, a document explaining how this is completed will be emailed to you. The documents requested by the online system should be brought to the first session of the referees course.

All candidates must undertake training in Safeguarding Children unless they have already done so with The FA.

The cost of the Safeguarding Children training for candidates
aged 14 and 15 is £10.00 (this is undertaken during the course or by home study and not attendance at a workshop). It is included in option B.

The cost to attend the Safeguarding Children Workshop for candidates

The course is run over 5 modules including the completion of 6 matches as a trainee referee and supported by a mentor.

The course contains both theoretical and practical elements and can be run over a weekend or several sessions again depending on resources.

Module 1 & 2 - Introduction & Practical Element

  • Laws of the Game
  • The role of the Referee
  • ‘Respect’ training for referees
