Course Description

The final module in The FA Youth Award Developing the Player continues the progressive change in coaching philosophy. Complementing the knowledge learnt on the preceding modules, this course teaches coaches to have a truly player-centred approach to the coaching and development of young players. The course comprises both practical and theory sessions.

The tutor led sections of the course will now be delivered by a County Coach Developer (CCD) over two days as opposed to four. During these two days, each learner will be allocated into a cluster group of four learners. After the tutor led delivery, the CCD will then visit each cluster four times, rotating each visit around the respective clubs of each learner. This means that each learner will receive two days tutor led delivery ‘on course’ and four more personalised support visits within their own context.

Please note that from 1 August learners can now complete The FA Youth Award Module 3 if they do not hold The FA youth Award Modules 1 and 2. In order to attend The FA Youth Award Module 3 the learner will need to hold The FA Level 2. Learners that do not hold the Youth Award Module 1 and 2 should be made aware that although they can proceed straight to Youth Award Module 3, they should consider completing the How We Coach and The Future Player / How We Support Components of the new FA Level 2 in Coaching Football prior to completing the Module 3. This will provide them with the knowledge they would have gained by completing The FA Youth Award Modules 1 and 2.
