GET INTO THE GAME
Date: Wednesday 29th July Time: 9am – 3pm
Venue: West Riding County FA, Fleet Lane, Woodlesford, Leeds, LS26 8NX
Delivered by: West Riding County FA Youth Council
Are you 16-24 and interested in a career in football? Do you want a career in football after college or university? Or are you working in a grassroots club and wondering what jobs can follow?
Come to GET INTO THE GAME on Wednesday the 29th July at the West Riding County FA and find out where football can take you!
Topic: We will be hosting a number of interactive workshops delivered by current professionals within the game. The event will also allow you to talk to various mentors that have come from all over the county to educate you on the big world of football.
We will have a range of mentors such as; Bobby Madley, Referee Development Officer at West Riding County FA and a professional referee in the Barclays Premier League, Emma Coates, FA Skills Team Coach, Jason Thornton a Football Commentator and Head of Sport at Made in Leeds and Laura Danskin, Partnership Officer at the Association of Colleges Sport plus many more. There will also be the opportunity for you to question our panel of mentors who will tell you all about their own experience within football.
Once you have booked onto the event, we will email you a GET INTO THE GAME: Confirmation of Interest Form where you can detail which areas of football you would like to be mentored on throughout the day. Please choose up to 4 areas from the following:
Administration and Professional Services. These mentors will give you an idea of what it’s like to go to university, work at The FA or volunteer in local clubs.
Media and Communications. Ever wondered what it’s like to present on TV, lead on social media or commentate on football games? Well this is the topic for you!
Playing, Coaching and Development. Fancy coaching professionally, analysing football or working in a pro club. Definitely choose this one.
Refereeing. Do you want to be the next Howard Webb or John Moss? Pick this one.
Want to pick less than 4 fields? That’s no problem, you will be linked with mentors from the same field of work.
All of the sessions are interactive, extremely informal and excellent development for anyone associated within football at grassroots level, volunteering or playing, and wanting to lead a life in the making of football.
