Respect Workshop - Adult and Youth Football
Date: Wednesday 24th June Time: 6.30 - 8.30pm
Venue: West Riding County FA, Fleet Lane, Woodlesford, Leeds, LS26 8NX
Delivered by: Bobby Madley, Referee Development Officer (West Riding) and Premier League Match Official
FA Licensed Coach CPD: N/A
Topic: We will be hosting a number of interactive workshops over the Summer in which the areas of responsibility of managers, spectators and parents in youth and open age football will be addressed. The course will involve a humorous yet extremely informative session from a refereeing perspective which is aimed at reducing poor behaviour within the grassroots game in West Riding.
The man tasked with delivering the workshop is Bobby Madley, the Referee Development Officer here at West Riding County FA and also a professional referee in the Barclays Premier League. Bobby has refereed at every level in the country from grassroots football to the professional game within the last 8 years and therefore brings credible experience to the workshops.
The workshop itself lasts for 2 hours and will have the candidates digging deep into the mind of the grassroots manager, taking on the role of referee and assistant referee in which they will be put under pressure to make decisions on the screen and generally reflect on their role within the game and the responsibilities that role carries. There may even be a cheeky Laws of the Game Quiz in which you will be asked...do you really know football as well as you think?!?!
This is by no means a lecture session. The whole session is interactive, extremely informal and excellent development for anyone associated within the game at grassroots level. You may feel this workshop was so positive that you request a visit for your whole club, this can certainly be arranged! Bobby has visited clubs and leagues across the County, junior and open-age and as yet has still to receive any negative feedback on this course...with well over 500 people already experiencing this then we are sure this will highlight the enjoyment and learning you and your club could take from it!
