Workshop content: Three hour theory/practical
This practically based workshop will investigate a number of key issues relevant to coaching players at different ages and stages of their development.
- Windows of opportunity: what are the most relevant coaching themes and topics for each age-phase (5-11; 12-16; 17-21)?
- A connected pathway: understanding the whole player journey
- Coaching style and approach: should this change according to player age?
- Best practice advice and sessions for: 5-11; 12-16; 17-21; 21 +
DISCUSSION POINTS:
Do you know what to coach players of different ages?
Are some themes/topics more appropriate than others at different stages?
Please bring: Writing materials for any notes you may wish to take, a drink and any snacks you may need. Please bring appropriate footwear for a grass surface and clothing to observe the practical sessions outdoors. We expect to engage a group of young players to participate in the practical football activity.
CPD
This event will attract 3 hours of CPD for Level 1 AND Level 2 coaches for the purposes of retaining membership of the FA Licensed Coaches Club.
Of course, coaches of all levels are entitled to attend and will take benefit from the content.
This is a great opportunity to meet and network with other coaches and to share ideas.
