Teaching games for understanding is a method used to teach children through modified games, in a play based environment.
The aim of this workshop is to give young coaches  a better understanding of how to use modified games to promote learning within coaching sessions. You will be introduced to the theory behind the Teaching Games for Understanding concept, plus shown practical demonstrations of this. This workshop is aimed at young leaders aged 12 – 16 years old (secondary school age). 

Please wear sportswear and footwear suitable for a 3G pitch (astros / moulded studs only – no metal blades). It is recommended that you take part in the practical, but it is not essential. If you are unable to due to injury/illness, you can still attend this workshop. Please bring water with you. You may also like to bring a pen and pad of paper with you if you would like to make notes.
