Suffolk FA & ITFC U7 School Holiday Festival (Individual Sign Up)

SUFFOLK FA & Ipswich Town Academy are entering into a new partnership to provide football opportunities for Under-7 players in the county.

The idea is to organise events throughout the course of the year during the school holidays that allow U7 players more opportunities to play football and enjoy the ‘beautiful game’.

These events will run alongside the U7 4v4 Festivals which Suffolk FA organise each season. Dates are currently being finalised and will be announced soon for teams to sign up.

This will result in plenty of opportunities for U7 players and teams to play in the coming season.

The first event will be taking place on Friday, August 31st 2018 at Goals in Ipswich, with the event running from 10am to 1pm.

Each event will run in a mash-up style, which means players will come along and teams will be created with those players on the day. But if you are interested in signing up your U7 team for the event you can do so.

The event will be completely free to attend and will be run by Ipswich Town coaches, with staff from Suffolk FA and Ipswich Town in attendance.

Suffolk FA Youth & Mini Soccer Football Development Officer James Morley said: “Suffolk FA are looking forward to working with Ipswich Town on this project and delivering another sustainable product that will allow U7 players to start their journey into football.

“We currently have the Under-7 4v4 festivals which have been a great success over the past couple of seasons and adding this into the mix will only help to develop young players in Suffolk.

Duncan Wheeler, who is Head of Foundation Phase at Ipswich Town, said, ‘This exciting partnership will see local children with an interest in playing Football and Futsal, opportunities to extend their fun and development in a variety of events over the course of the season.’

We are proud to work again with Suffolk FA on a youth project offering opportunities where appropriate for children to join our elite player pathway. We would encourage all children with an interest in playing football at the appropriate age to sign up for the first event on 31st August!’’
