The next session the coaches association has arranged is being delivered by Adam Pilling - Head Of Academy Coaching at Sheffield United. Adam has also been a Professional Development Coach with Watford FC Academy.
This event is free of charge and will provide Level 1 & Coaches with 2 hours CPD. Please see details below as provided by the Coaches Association:
Adam's theme/topic is "Let The Game Be The Teacher/Learning Through The Game" which incorporates replicating the key components of the match environment in training circumstances. You can begin with "the end" (the Match) in mind. Let them play and provide feedback or, if required, step in to add coaching points - individually while the game carries on or collectively during a stoppage. However you are still leaving decision making to the players, creating thinkers and stimulating players - you may see guided discovery or a centric approach (focus on the player(s). Many believe it is valuable for players understanding their roles, relationships with other players and performance.
Please come along and watch Adam work with The Blades Academy players in what will be "an alternative" approach to what you may favour currently. You are guaranteed to learn and take away something of coaching value to use at your own clubs.
When: Monday 13th March 2017; 7pm kick off
Where: Sheffield United Academy, Firshill Crescent, Shirecliffe, Sheffield, S4 7DR
Who: Adam Pilling - Head Of Academy Coaching @ Sheffield United
