Coaching Disabled Footballers - CDF01/March

 Course Information:
  • Minimum Age: 17
  • Course Duration: 6 hours 
  • Course Prerequisites: Minimum 1st4sport Level 1 Award in Coaching Football
  • Who is it for: Coaches and teachers who wish to learn how to include all people within their coaching/teaching sessions.
  • Course aims and objectives: The course is designed to give football coaches and teacher's ideas and practices for the inclusion of disabled players in football sessions whether in mainstream or impairment specific sessions.

Course Content:

The course is six hours and covers both theory and practical elements and by the end of the workshop each participant should be able to met the following outcomes:

  • Apply and extend your existing coaching skills and experience to meet the needs of players with a range of impairments
  • Establish basic communication skills for coaching disabled footballers
  • Use appropriate terminology
  • Identify appropriate safety and medical considerations
  • Plan a wide range of coaching sessions for disabled footballers
  • Using the Inclusion Spectrum, plan your coaching sessions to include disabled players or provide alternative appropriate opportunities
  • Understand the player pathways available for disabled players including the appropriate structure for competition.

Practical Involvement: Candidates will be encouraged to participate practically to maximise their opportunities for learning (This however will not prevent successful completion of the award).

Facility:  Classroom & Outdoor Pitch - Football Boots and Shinpads required

NB:Please note that refreshments and lunch are not provided on this course, and candidates are advised that there are no facilities on site to purchase refreshments.

Prior Reading: There is no prior reading/learning required before the start of the course as resources are distributed on the day, however candidates are asked to spend time thinking about disability, football and the potential adaptations that can be made to allow players with a disability to access football as this may further enhance the activities within the day.

Nottinghamshire FA Terms and Conditions
- Nottinghamshire FA reserves the right to increase or decrease the course fee at its discretion.
- The Nottinghamshire FA does not accept responsibility for the loss, or damage to, candidate property or for personal injury however caused.
- If you are suspended from football (by any County FA) then you are suspended from all football activity, including courses.
- Should you miss any session(s) of any course you sign up to the Nottinghamshire FA reserve the right to remove you from the course, and no refund will be given. However in exceptional circumstances candidates may be offered the opportunity to attend missed session(s) on other courses should availability allow, and the Nottinghamshire FA will charge you extra accordingly.
- You will respect the course tutor, course venue and the other candidates and their points of view and you will understand that if your behaviour, language or conduct is deemed 'unacceptable', 'offensive' or 'harmful' for any reason, the Nottinghamshire FA and the venues reserves the right to exclude you from continuing on your chosen course and if necessary, future courses.


Nottinghamshire FA Cancellation Policy

Should you cancel your registration you will receive a refund minus the following administration fee:
For courses up to 3 hours - Paid Fee minus £5.00
For courses between 6 to 32 hours - Paid Fee minus £20.00
For courses over 32 hours - Paid Fee minus £30.00
No return if less than 5 working days notice given prior to course start date.  The Nottinghamshire FA reserves the right at its discretion to issue a full refund if suitable evidence is provided.

Nottinghamshire FA Transfer Policy
Should you wish your application to be transferred from one course to another (of the same type and value) then an additional £10.00 administration fee will be charged for courses (6 hours or more), and £5.00 administration fee for workshops (up to 3 hours).

Nottinghamshire FA Refund Policy
- Should a course that you have registered on be cancelled or postponed by the Nottinghamshire FA then a full refund will be issued.

Should you cancel your registration and request a refund the Nottinghamshire FA reserves the right with regard to the method of payment by bank transfer or cheque.
