Who is this aimed at?
FAYA coaches who need assessment after having completed Module 3, their learning journal and 10 practical sessions
What is the content of the day?
FAYA Award coaches will book a time slot and provide players for their assessment.
The session will be on grass after a topic has been agreed with Gordon Staniforth FA County Coach Developer North Riding FA
A decision, feedback and an action will be discussed following the practical. .
What are the outcomes?
Decision, feedback and action plan on the day followed by confirmation e mail.
Who will lead the assessments?
Gordon Staniforth FA County Coach Developer for North Riding FA together with FA Affiliate Tutors as observers.
What do I need to bring with me?
Players you have been working with, all footballs, bibs and cones. Visual aids, FAYA Learning Packs. Practical session plans
FA Youth Award Learning Outcomes
· Demonstrate an understanding of how to design player learning activities based on individual, unit or group needs.
· Demonstrate an understanding of how to plan and deliver appropriate coach interventions before, during and after coaching sessions.
· Demonstrate an understanding of communication skills and different coach/player interactions including the positive management of player mistakes.
· Demonstrate effective feedback techniques – including questioning – which help the player develop and improve.
· Demonstrate an understanding of the relevant key land marks in young players physical development (5-21)
· Show an ability to demonstrate how you have developed as a coach- through evidence of planning, delivering, evaluating and adapting sessions to meet the needs of the players.
