Overview
The FA Youth Award Module 3 is designed to support the development of learners that currently coach a group of youth players (aged between 5-21 years) on a regular basis withing the performance or grassroots areas of the game.
The FA Youth Award Module 3 makes up Block 1 of the new FA Level 3 (UEFA B) in Coaching Football qualification (due to launched on 01.08.17).
Description
By the end of this course the coach will be able to:
Analyse performance within the attacking and defending principles of play
Design practices specific to the needs of individual players
Link the design of practices to match day and player’s role specific requirements
Content
Workshops will consider:
Plan, do review
Principles of play
Intervention strategies
Questioning techniques
‘Whole-part-whole’ practices
Building challenges in trial and error
Learners will receive a pre-course reading pack which needs to read and completed in advance. Learners should arrive at the course with ideas around their own development. These may be areas of development the coach would like to improve on and/or areas of strength which the coach would like to build on further. Certificates of attendance will be issued following submissions of the successfully completed log book. The learner will need to return their logbook to the County Coach Developer for marking.
Duration
Monday 10 and Tuesday 11 April 2017 9am – 5pm
Two in-situ visits (the format will be agreed between the candidates and the tutor)
Assessment
There is an option to undertake an assessment at the conclusion of this module to complete The FA Youth Award. This will cover key elements across Modules 1, 2 and 3 of The FA Youth Award. Leaners will be required to return log books to FA Education at least four weeks prior to the date of final assessment. The assessment process will be decided in consultation with the course director but where possible will be a club site assessment.
Pre-Requisites
Minimum of 18 years of age
An in-date FA Emergency Aid and FA Safeguarding Children certificate
Hold The FA Level 2 in Coaching Football or higher
Must be a member of the current FA Licensed Coaches’ Club
Course Cost - £175
Half prices places at £87.50 are available to coaches with a Norfolk FA affiliated Charter Standard Club
Please note that we can only accept applicants who are residents in England on this course.
Applicants MUST be currently working with a team and have access to players to practice.
