CCFC Summer Programme: 16 – 19 Coaching Camps

Over the summer, Manchester County FA are delivering a series of football coaching sessions for 16 – 19 year olds. The sessions are aimed specifically at delivering a week packed full of technical and tactical development for those age groups. Groups will cover development for young people in Passing (short & long), Finishing, Receiving & Control and Dribbling.

All the sessions within the week will focus on delivering topics from the game and improving technical understanding, tactical decision making and game related scenarios all relevant to the game and situations players find themselves in.

The sessions will be delivered in key areas around Greater Manchester across 3 weeks over the summer:

Salford: Deans Youth & Ladies, Ellesmere Park Playing Fields, Eccles, M30 9BG - 8th, 9th, 10th & 11th July

Tameside: Hyde Clarendon Sixth Form College, Clarendon Road, Hyde, SK14 2JZ - 15th, 16th, 17th & 18th July 

Manchester: The Manchester College, Nicholls Campus, Hyde Road, Ardwick, M12 6BA - 22nd, 23rd, 24th, 25th July

The sessions will be delivered by UEFA A/B Licenced coaches who are FA Licenced Coach Club members for season 13/14, hold enhanced FA CRB’s, have FA Basic First Aid for Sport and FA Emergency First Aid Qualification. The sessions will be delivered in line with the FA’s Future Game philosophy and using the techniques applied at  Youth Awards Module 1, 2 & 3.
 

A typical day will look like:

09:30 – 09:45 – Registration

10:00 – 11:55 – Topic One (E.G. Dribbling)

  • Dribbling Skills                                                                   15 mins
  • Dominating 1 vs. 1 using skills                                          15 mins
  • Isolating defenders by dribbling                                        30 mins
  • Dribbling from middle to final thirds & SSG’s                     55 mins
  • De – brief                                                                          05 mins

12:00 – 12:55 – Lunch

13:00 – 14:50 – Topic Two (E.G. Short Passing)

  • Short Passing Techniques                                                                                                  15 mins
  • Short Passing under Pressure                                                                                            15 mins
  • Short Passing to gain advantage 4 vs. 3                                                                            30 mins
  • Short Passing in the midfield to combine and escape midfield third into attacking third & SSG’s                                                                                                                                  45 mins
  • De-Brief                                                                                                                               05 mins

14:50 – 15:00 – De-Brief, Awards for the Day and De-Registration

The sessions are for players of any skill level and regardless of whether they currently play for clubs in the area or not. All the sessions will be linked with a number of clubs within the area to retain and grow provision at all ages catered for. The sessions will also cover the topics described, however using conditioned games and scenarios to teach the players.
