Course Information:
- Minimum Age: 16
- Course Duration: Maximum 32 hours
- Course Prerequisites: None
- Course aims and objectives: This course will provide an introduction to the organisation and delivery of safe and enjoyable coaching sessions for young players. It is ideally suited to those working with groups of young players and/or teams.

Course Content:
Theory: The course will introduce some key aspects in the following:
- Football Club Administration
- Player and Coach development
- Soccer Parent
- Laws of the Game
- An introduction to the FA's Long Term Player Development Model
The course will also provide the following for candidates:
- FA Emergency Aid (included in the course programme)
- FA Safeguarding Children in Football (included in the course programme)
Practical: Practical elements of the course will provide an introduction to:
- Warm up and cool down game related activities
- Passing and control
- Turning with the ball
- Dribbling
- Shooting
- Heading
- Goalkeeping
- Individual Attacking
- Individual Defending
- Small sided games
Practical Involvement: Candidates will be encouraged to participate practically to maximise their opportunities for learning. (This however will not prevent successful completion of the award)
Assessment: Assessment is via successful completion of:
1. The FA Safeguarding Children Workshop and The FA Emergency Aid Certificate
2. All portfolio tasks
3. Practical delivery of a 20 minute practical coaching activity based on a specific skill and age group, which demonstrates safe practice, organisation, enjoyment and progression to meet the needs of the players.
Re-assessment: Candidates can be reassessed within a 12 month period from registration on the course.
Refresher: Every 3 years as specified in the FAL Level 1 CPD and Refresher Policy.

Terms and Conditions
In order to complete the course you must attend all associated hours (30.5 hours) unless you have a valid First Aid Certificate (British Red Cross, St John's Ambulance or Health and Safety Executive Stamp). Please bring a copy of your valid First Aid Certificate to the Induction Evening, failure to produce the certificate will result in you attending the Emergency First Aid component. Please ensure that you can attend all dates before booking a place onto a course. Furthermore, you must meet the minimum requirements for the course and failure to abide by the terms and conditions may lead to administration charges being imposed on the registrar.
Due to the pricing structure of coach education courses in Lincolnshire, candidates who enrol on to a course will now be monitored to ensure they are from an FA Charter Standard Club or part of the Lincolnshire coaches Association or Football Futures programmes. If you falsely identified being part of one of these groups then you will be contacted and required to pay the rest of the fee. Failure to pay the rest of the course fee will result in you being removed from the course and a deduction of £10.00 to cover administration costs will be incurred.
All candidates must wear shin pads when taking part in the practical sessions. Failure to do so and an injury is caused by not wearing them, the tutor and the Lincolnshire FA are NOT liable are take no responsibility for any injury caused. It is the candidates responsibility to ensure they are being worn.
Important Note
Please be aware that if you are booking a candidate onto this course on their behalf you need to use their FA Number and password. If you use your own FA Number and password you will not be able to change the name on the booking form. The reason for this is that the FA have introduced a new system that relies on accurate candidate data that will also ensure that candidates receieve certification promptly. If a candidate requires their FA Number and password please click on the blue text at the bottom of the page and complete the pop up dialogue boxes. Alternatively, they can visit the FA website and click on FAN at the top of the page.

Cancellation Policy
Lincolnshire County Football Association adheres to a strict cancellation policy. For all course cancellations within 14 days of the course starting there will be an administration charge of 20% per course.
If you cancel your place on the course before the 14 day period, you will be charged £5.00 to cover administration costs.
