Grassroots football groundsmen from across Lincolnshire are being invited to a free Lincolnshire FA-led workshop, put on in partnership with the Institute of Groundsmanship (IOG).

To be held on Wednesday March 29, it follows the on-going success and keen interest in previous groundsman workshops, and focuses on dealing with end-of-season /close season preparation pitch works.

Lincolnshire FA continues to work in partnership with the IOG's Regional Pitch Advisor Tom Rowley to deliver The FA's Pitch Improvement Programme, supporting clubs and their groundsmen across the county.

There will be the opportunity to share some excellence tips, advice and contacts in support of the work of Groundsmen, such as grounds maintenance machinery, sand, seed, fertilizer and line marking paints.

The session will involve some indoor discussion and presentations and also some outdoor elements so please come dressed appropriately for the weather conditions.

The evening will also be supported by The FA's National Pitch Improvement Programme (PIP) partners, Charterhouse and Rigby Taylor.

For the first time, we will host our Groundsman Workshop at the home of one of our grassroots development clubs who have been involved in the pitch improvement programme since its launch and will present a short case study on the pitch improvements made at the site from the initial report to current date.

The session will take place from 6.30pm to 9pm at The Wong, Horncastle Town Football Club, Horncastle, LN9 6EA, with tea and coffee available for all attendees upon arrival.

Places for the workshop are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis and are available to groundsmen from Lincolnshire FA-affiliated clubs.

The closing date to book onto the workshop is Monday March 27.
