Course Information:
- Minimum Age: 16
- Course Duration: 7 hours
- Course Prerequisites: Minimum 1st4sport Level 1 Certificate in Coaching Football
- Who is it for: The Course is open to all interested candidates although only those holding an existing FA Coaching qualification can be certified.
- Course aims and objectives: The course provides an introduction to the FIFA Small Sided Game of Fustal and by the end of the course Candidates should be able to:
- Understand and appreciate the fundamentals of Futsal
- Organise and coach the basic skills and techniques of Futsal
- Understand the basic principle of attack and defence of Futsal
- Appreciate the 'Laws of the Game' of Futsal
Course Content:
Theory: The course will introduce some key aspects in the following:
- History and background of Futsal
- Introducing the game - The Futsal Court
- Skills, techniques, tactics, formations - video analysis of International Futsal
- The FA's Futsal development programme
Theory: Practical elements of the course will provide an introduction to:
- Laws of Futsal and difference from domestic 5-a-side
- Techniques of Futsal - Passing, control, moving/running with the ball, dribbling, and maintaining possession, shooting, basic defending.
- GK techniques - (Shot Stopping, Throws, distribution, GK Playing as an Outfielder)
- Basic Team Shape and player responsibilities
- Offensive principles
- Defensive Principles
- Set pieces
Practical Involvement: Candidates will be encouraged to participate practically to maximise their opportunities for learning (This however will not prevent successful completion of the award).
