Are there any tasks to complete ahead of the event?
Pre event - you will have access to an introductory. Consider and bring some questions you may have to help you work with others when coaching.
Overview of the event The role of others really focuses on how you can support the additional coach. This is more than them just collecting cones, it’s how you can communicate, be confident and be that mentor to a new aspiring coach, maybe even a parent support.
This is also for a newly qualified coach who would like some confidence in getting out on the pitch following the BT playmaker of the I2CF and observe the CDO how to start to set up the first session.
The Match Day experience.
Questions this workshop will aim to answer:
How do I plan for Match Days more effectively?
What does organisation look like on a match day to help improve the experience for the players?
In what ways can I help the players and myself reflect on the match day experience for future learning?
Who else can support me on match days?
What can coaches expect to take away?
- Some thinking and planning tools to support coaches on a matchday BEFORE and DURING the match day.
- Some coach self-reflection tools AFTER the match day
Are there any tasks to complete ahead of the event?
- Something to think about: What is the purpose of a match day for you and most importantly, your players?
- Watch the 90 second video provided and come prepared to share your thoughts around some of the key topics mentioned.
Overview of the event
“Can we play a match” One of the most common phrases we hear when working with enthusiastic players who love the game. How do we as coaches, supporters and volunteers help keep that life-long love for the game and provide the best possible experiences we can when it comes to a match day?
In this workshop, we will aim to explore some of the challenges faced by coaches on a match day but also, the opportunities that it presents in terms of the following key aspects:
