Coaching Young Goalkeepers Workshop - An Introduction to the FA L1 GK Award.

This is a Licensed coaches CPD event for Levels 1/2's as well as an introduction for new coaches that would like to get started in coaching Goalkeepers.


You must be over 16 years old to Complete the Goalkeepers workshop As a coach). 


Date: Monday 22nd May 2017

Time : 18.30-21.30

Location : LRCFA, Holmes Park, Dog and Gun Lane. Leicester. LE8 6FA 


During this workshop candidates will be invited to bring their Goalkeepers with them for the tutor to show various drills related to: GK Warm Ups, Handling and Footwork, Shot Stopping, Crossing, 1 v 1's, distribution and GK Games. 


Please be aware there is both Practical and theory content in this workshop. You will need to bring: 

Note Pad and Pen

Plenty of Liquids

Wear Practical Clothing

Astro's/Trainers suitable for the 3G


Ensure Goalkeepers that you use are wearing suitable kit including Gloves and Shin pads. 


Following on from this workshop will be the FA Level 1 Coaching Goalkeeping Award which we are hoping to run in July.

If you are suspended from football (by any County FA) then you are suspended from all football activity including courses. Should you miss any session(s) of any course you sign up to the Leicestershire & Rutland County FA reserve the right to remove you from the course, and no refund will be given. However in exceptional circumstances candidates may be offered the opportunity to attend missed session(s) on other courses should availability allow, and the Leicestershire & Rutland County FA will charge you accordingly.

You will respect the course tutor, course venue and other candidates and their points of view and you will understand that if your behaviour, language or conduct is deemed ‘unacceptable’ ‘offensive’ or ‘harmful’ for any reason, the Leicestershire & Rutland County FA and the venues reserves the right to exclude you from continuing on your chosen course and if necessary, future courses.
