Course Pre-requisites

  • - Minimum 18 years of age
  • - Valid 1st4sport FA Level 2 CCF (Including FA Emergency Aid and FA Safeguarding Children Workshop) along with FA Youth Award Module 1 & FA Youth Award Module 2 or
  • - UEFA B Licence & FA Youth Coaches Course
  • - Must be a current member of the FA Licensed Coaches Club

 

Course Description

The final module in the FA Youth Award - Developing the Player continues the progressive change in coaching philosophy. Complementing the knowledge learnt on the preceding modules, this course teaches coaches to have a truly player centred approach to the coaching and development of young player. The course comprises both practical and theory sessions.

           

Course Content

Workshops will consider:

  • Practice and multiple outcomes
  • 'What the players say'
  • Coaching Styles & Intervention Strategies
  • Planning & Design
  • 'What the coaches say'

 Practical

This is a practical based course. Different types of practices will be demonstrated and delivered and candidates will be expected to evaluate these practices as well as place , deliver and evaluate their own practices. Candidates will be encouraged to take part and those not taking part will be expected to build on their evaluating and observation skills.
           

Pre-course task

Candidates will receive a pre-course reading pack two weeks prior to the course, which they are required to read in advance of the course.

Post-course task

Certificates of attendance will be issued following submission of completed logbook requirements. Please note, this does not commit candidates to undergo assessment for the Level 3 Youth qualification.

Course Assessment

There is a summative assessment at the conclusion of this module which will examine the coaches understanding and application of all the key elements included within Modules 1-3 of the FA Youth Award. Assessment opportunities will be made available to all eligible candidates throughout the year. Candidates will be required to return their Learning Journals to the relevant FA Learning Co-ordinator at least four weeks prior to date for final assessment.



Please note that there is a practical element in this course, with up to 25 hours of outdoors activities. Participants MUST bring the appropriate sports kit, including shin pads and footwear suitable for artificial grass (Astroturf trainers, moulded boots or trainers) and natural grass (football boots) on all days. Please also bring food & drinks along with a pen & notepad on all dates.

Leicestershire & Rutland County FA does not accept any responsibility for the loss, or damage to, candidate property or for personal injury however caused. If you are suspended from football (by any County FA) then you are suspended from all football activity including courses. Should you miss any session(s) of any course you sign up to the Leicestershire & Rutland County FA reserve the right to remove you from the course, and no refund will be given. However in exceptional circumstances candidates may be offered the opportunity to attend missed session(s) on other courses should availability allow, and the Leicestershire & Rutland County FA will charge you accordingly.

You will respect the course tutor, course venue and other candidates and their points of view and you will understand that if your behaviour, language or conduct is deemed ‘unacceptable’ ‘offensive’ or ‘harmful’ for any reason, the Leicestershire & Rutland County FA and the venues reserves the right to exclude you from continuing on your chosen course and if necessary, future courses.


Coach Education Cancellation Policy

Please note that any payment made is non-refundable. Leicestershire & Rutland County FA adheres to a strict cancellation policy. For all course cancellations candidates will receive credit notes for use on Leicestershire & Rutland County FA courses only to the sum of:

 

• 75% of course cost returned if 2 months notice given

• 50% of course cost returned if 1 month notice given

• 25% of course cost returned if less than 1 month notice given

• No credit note if less than 7 days notice given

 

Consideration will be given to candidates who, for health reasons are unable to attend and require a transfer to another course.  A letter from a doctor or medical professional must be supplied.
