Referee Promotion

Referee Promotion Scheme Details and Current Criteria

Season 2019-2020

February 2019

It is with great pleasure that we are now actively seeking applications to apply for promotion for Season 2019-2020, which will run from 01 March 2019 to 30 April 2020. This scheme is only open to referees who are currently registered at Level 7, 6 or 5 with Leicestershire & Rutland County FA (LRCFA) as their ‘parent’ County FA, irrespective of their experience. All applicants must be aged 16 or above as of 01 March 2019 and have a valid and current email address.

Please ensure that you read this correspondence and the criteria below which fully outlines the process that should be followed for you to be included in next season’s promotion scheme and the current FA criteria which must be met. Your successful promotion will be based around meeting these various criteria, depending upon your level. Please note the requirement that you must regularly referee adult 11v11 football in order to meet the criteria.

In order to be included in the scheme you MUST REGISTER BELOW. Please do not contact me directly to register for the scheme. All fields marked with an asterisk (*) must be completed but there is no requirement to complete the ‘Promotional code’ field.

All referees currently involved in the Promotion Scheme for Season 2018-2019 should take careful note of the information contained below and within the attached document. If you are currently involved in the promotion scheme for season 2018-2019 you will, at present, be unaware if you will be promoted or not. It is important that you register and pay the required £30.00 deposit for your application for Season 2019-2020. When completing your application for Season 2019-2020, please presume that you have been successful during Season 2018-2019 (eg if you are currently applying for promotion from Level 7 to Level 6 for this season, when you complete your application for Season 2019-2020 please complete as if you were a Level 6 referee. Therefore, for the purpose of this application, you should either apply for promotion to Level 5 or choose to remain as a Level 6 referee). However, please note that this correspondence should NOT be treated as notification of your successful promotion for Season 2018-2019. This decision will be communicated to you in due course, by the end of March 2019, following a meeting of LRCFA Referees’ Committee. I will personally contact everybody currently involved in the scheme that has not been successful in their current application to discuss the best possible way forward for them and their refereeing.

At the point of application to the LRCFA Promotion Scheme for Season 2019-2020 no referee will only be permitted to apply for accelerated promotion (‘Double Jump’) from Level 7 to 5 or Level 6 to 4. Therefore, all referees seeking promotion will be applying to be promoted by one level only (ie: Level 7 to 6, 6 to 5 or 5 to 4) during the promotion season 2019-2020.

If you are currently applying for promotion to Level 4 for Season 2018-20199, we would recommend that you re-apply to join the scheme to be promoted to Level 4 for Season 2019-2020 and if you are successfully promoted at the end of this promotion season, we will remove you from the scheme for Season 2019-2020 and refund any outstanding deposit payments to you.

We would welcome applications to join the scheme for Season 2019-2020 from anyone who has withdrawn from the scheme during this current, or any previous season for whatever reason.

Full details of the criteria for all levels of promotion can be found in the LRCFA Promotion Guidance Booklet.

To be included into the promotion scheme, your application to join and payment must be received by no later than 5pm on Friday 22nd March 2019. Applications and / or payments received after this date will not be considered.

Should you have any queries, please feel free to get in touch by email or by calling me on the number below.

Wishing you all the very best.

Kind Regards, Natasha
