Course Content:

Workshops will consider:

  • Plan, do, review
  • Principles of play
  • Intervention strategies
  • Questioning techniques
  • Focus on ‘whole-part-whole’ practices
  • Building challenges in trial and error

Pre-course task:

Candidates will receive a pre-course reading pack three weeks prior to the course, which they are required to read and complete in advance.

Candidates should arrive at the course with ideas around their own development. These may be areas of development the coach would like to improve on and/or areas of strength which the coach would like to build on further.

Certificates of attendance will be issued following submission of completed log book. This does not commit candidates to undergo assessment for The FA Youth Award as this is optional.

Course assessment:

There is an option to undertake an assessment at the conclusion of this module to complete The FA Youth Award. This will cover key elements across Modules 1, 2 & 3 of The FA Youth Award. Candidates will be required to return log books to FA Learning at least four weeks prior to the date of final assessment. The assessment process will be decided in consultation with the Course Director but where possible will be a club site assessment.
