Included in the price resources for the day, a Football Futures t-shirt and a prize draw for free and discounted Hampshire FA courses. The aim of the day is for participants to develop skills, increase knowledge and engage with other like-minded people their age.
Throughout the day the participants will be taking part in a variety of practical workshops, led by guest presenters who are experts in the workshop topics. There will also be activities for participants to engage in to develop their leadership skills.
Choose between refereeing or coaching in the morning. Both workshops are practically focused. Workshops are open to those who have no experience in refereeing or coaching, and for those who are actively involved and looking to develop further.
Coaching - Developing the Practice
A two hour theory/practical workshop looking at various practice types, the use of game-based scenarios and the benefits/trade-offs that support player development.
Refereeing - Applying the Laws of the Game
We will look at the importance of the referee and the basic laws of the game and how to apply them on the field of play. In addition to this with the help of technology the workshop will look at how to be a good assistant referee and get those offside decisions correct when they are being filmed! This workshop will provide those interested in refereeing with a good insight in what is involved and how to get involved after the day, and will provide existing referees with key learning points in how to develop further.
Then the afternoon sessions will focus on “running the game” and “using football to become more employable”.
Running the game
Led by career professionals currently involved in football and will cover opportunities available to you to develop your knowledge of marketing and media.
