Course Information:
- Minimum Age: 14
- Course Duration: Minimum of 18 guided learning hours, 6 notional learning hours
- Course Prerequisites: None
- Who is it for: This course is designed to provide training for those planning to referee Futsal.
- Course aims and objectives: To provide learners with an introduction to refereeing, identifying the skills required to effectively referee games of Futsal. Following the initial training the candidates will be expected to referee a minimum of six games before returning for a review session during which their knowledge of Law will be assessed.
- Leading to: Registered Referee Status (either level 8 Youth Referee or Level 7 Junior County Referee)
Course Content:
The course consists of 5 clear modules with the following elements
Modules 1-4 - Theory/Practical Delivery:
- Introduction to the course
- The ethos of Futsal
- Role and responsibilities
- What the qualification is
- Law 12 Sanctions
- Cautioning & send-off procedure
- Misconduct report writing
- Advantage
- Recognising Challenges
- The second referee, timekeeper and third referee
- Practical exercises covering various laws
- Free Kicks
- Penalty Kicks
- Small games for practical experience of refereeing
- Practical Experience (Over 1 – 3 month period 6 NLH’s)
Module 5 - Assessment of Experiences:
- Opportunity to reflect on previous learning and experience
- Examination to confirm competence to qualify as a Futsal Referee
PLEASE NOTE: The dates indicated on the course booking cover only the first 3 Modules of learning. Module 4 requires the candidate to track the practical implementation of their lessons in a match environment, and Module 5, the Final Assessment, can only be completed once that has been evidenced.
Either the Safeguarding Football on line learning resource or where applicable the workshop will be completed. A DBS check will be instigated during the course, where applicable.
Practical Involvement: Candidates are encouraged to participate practically to maximise their opportunities for learning. (This however will not prevent successful completion of the award)
Assessment: Assessment is via successful completing the Assessment of Knowledge (theory & practical) in module 4.

FA Futsal Referee Course
Cost: £40 p/p
Date: 16th March 2019
Time: 0900 - 1700 hrs
Where: Sparsholt College, Westley Lane, Winchester, SO21 2NF
Who is it for: Futsal players, Active individuals working in Futsal, Individuals aspiring to get role in Futsal.
Session content:
During this workshop the FA Tutor will share their knowledge and experience on refereeing Futsal. This event will give you an insight into refereeing and how to apply it to Futsal using the FA's laws of the game.
This event will include practical involvement and observation as well as an opportunity to ask the FA Tutor any questions surrounding this topic.
You may be required to take part in a practical during this workshop so please bring suitable indoor playing equipment:
- Shorts/Tracksuit trousers
- Shin Pads
- Socks
- Suitable indoor shoes
There are showers available onsite for those who wish to use them after the event.

I am fully aware that my chosen course may be one which includes the FA Safeguarding
children workshop three hour Workshop, which discusses some sensitive ‘hypothetical’
issues and some real issues regarding child abuse in its various forms.
I am fully aware I am the only participant who can attend the FA Safeguarding Children
Workshop, I understand that no other person may attend in my place should I be unable
to attend.
I am fully aware of the previously stated mandatory prerequisites to complete the course.
If I do not deliver payment for my course fee before the commencement of the course,
my certificate will be withheld until payment is settled.
Cancellation: If I cancel my booking I will inform Hampshire FA and will be entitled to
a credit note for the value of the following:
50% return if 1 month notice given
25% return if less than 1 month given
No return if less than 7 days given
I will respect the course tutor, course venue and the other candidates and their points of view and I understand that if my behaviour, language or conduct is deemed ‘unacceptable’, ’offensive’or ‘harmful’ for any reason, the Hampshire FA and the venues reserves the right to exclude me for continuing on my chosen course and if necessary, future courses.
Hampshire FA does not accept responsibility for the loss, or damage to, candidate property or for personal injury however caused and that I will ensure that I am protected with my own personal insurance cover.
