Referee Progression Pathway 2024/25

Thank you for your interest in joining the Referee Progression Pathway for the 2024/25 season.
Just a reminder, if you were already part of the pathway at the end of the 2023/24 season, then you do not need to re-apply as your application will be rolled over to the 2024/25 season if you haven't completed the full criteria.
Whilst we are still waiting for the confirmation of criteria for next season, below shows the current criteria for the different levels:

In addition to the above, for promotion to Level 4, you can join either the annual process (Jan-Dec) or the season process (Aug-April). The criteria is set out below:
- Referee a minimum of 15 open-age matches (this should be the highest level of County football available, Tiers 3-6 of Women's Football Pyramid, County FA Cup Competitions, U23/U21/U19 Competitions that operate with Assistant Referees)
- Receive 4 observations, achieving an average of 70 or above
- Complete a minimum of 15 Assistant Referee appointments (these appointments can take place in FA Competitions, Step 5/6 Leagues, Tiers 3/4 of Women's Football Pyramid, County FA Cup Competitions, EFL Youth Alliance)
- Successfully complete and pass an FA Fitness Test
- Attend a Level 5-4 face-to-face Promotion Seminar hosted by The FA Refereeing Department (different to below)
As part of joining the Progression Pathway, we will also be hosting an online call to outline the process. The details of the call are:
