Course Information:

  • Minimum Age: 16
  • Course Duration: 32 hours
  • Course Prerequisites: Minimum 1st4sport Level 1 Certificate in Coaching Football
  • Member of the current FA Licensed Coaches’ Club (recommended)
  • Who is it for: Aimed at coaches at all levels who want to become more knowledgeable and effective when coaching young players. There are generic strands relating to teaching and learning, motivation and self-esteem that are suitable for most coaches.
  • Course aims and objectives: The course will provide practical sessions and advice for when coaching this age group, and will increase the candidate's knowledge of how to develop their coaching to incorporate The FA 4 corner model. The course will cover technical development and in the physical corner it will offer FUNdamental ideas for the coach to use as well as suggested activities for the development of football specific movements. The important Social and Psychological development of the young player is also examined.
  • Leading to: FA Youth Award Module 2 - Developing the Practice FA Licensed Coaches Club: 32 hours at Level 1, 2 and 3 only. Course Content:

Theory: The course will introduce some key aspects in the following:

  • The importance of the social corner and how it links with the 4 corners.
  • How players learn
  • Motivation
  • Self-Esteem
  • Managing Mistakes
  • Managing Physical, Technical, Social and Psychological Difference
  • Planning Activity

Practical: Practical elements of the course will provide an introduction to:

  • Physical corner FUNdamental warm-ups
  • Practical activities and games

Practical Involvement: Candidates will be encouraged to participate practically to maximise their opportunities for learning.

  • FAL Online Courses: Coaching Children, Running a Club, Futsal Laws of the Game, Soccer Camp Coaches, Planning, Preparing and Evaluating Coaching Sessions, Disciplinary, Fitness in Football Level 1, Psychology for Soccer Level 1, Player and Match Analysis.
  • FA Youth Award Module 2 - Developing the Practice
  • 1st4sport Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Football

Booking Terms and Conditions

Places will only be reserved on receipt of an online booking and payment or completed application form and payment. Payment can be made by cash in person (please do not send cash through the post) and cheques made payable to Gloucestershire County Football Association.

Forms and payment must be sent to Gloucestershire FA, Oaklands Park, Almondsbury, Bristol, BS32 4AG. A receipt or VAT invoice can be provided upon request.

Once your place is confirmed you are required to give us 7 working days notice should you have to cancel your place in order to receive a refund or to transfer your place on to another GFA coaching course. Cancellations within 7 days from the start of the course will not be eligible for a refund, although may be considered in extenuating circumstances. All online cancellations will incur a transaction administration fee.

Please note that if any of the modules on this course should fall below 18 candidates, the tutor reserves the right to cancel the course without prior notice and re-schedule for a later date.

Joined the FA Licensed Coaches Club

Gloucestershire Football Association - Coaching Bursaries

A coach bursary has been built into this course cost, which has been allocated for coaches living and actively coaching within a Gloucestershire FA Affiliated club.

To be eligible for this bursary you must reach the following requirements:-
 
      1. Be a coach living and actively coaching within a Gloucestershire FA Affiliated Club
      2. Meet all the course pre-requisites

If you meet these requirements the course price will be
£65.00

However, if you do not fall into this category you will be required to pay the full amount of £115.00
