Workshop Overview

This workshop aims to support coaches to help them meet the needs of their goalkeepers within their practices. Quite often coaches separate their goalkeepers from their outfield practices, or are not entirely sure on how best to support them within it, and as we often don't have the luxury of having a separate 'goalkeeping coach' this can often be challenging. This workshop aims to help coaches to better understand their needs, and how to then make them feel more integrated with the rest of the team.

Who is it for?

Coaches who are looking at developing their ability to better support their goalkeepers within their practice design.

What to expect

• Theoretical discussion around goalkeeping and the benefits behind their involvement with outfield players.
• Practical delivery highlighting different ways to incorporate and develop goalkeepers within training.

Outcomes

• Be able to consider the key elements of practice design and it's relation to goalkeepers.
• Understand and be able to observe the impact of practice design on goalkeeping.
• Better understand the developmental needs of goalkeepers.
