'Transition from 5v5 to 7v7' - Devon FA CPD event for Levels 1 & 2

..............................................................................................................................................................

Devon FA CPD events - free workshops

Devon FA aim to bring together coaches working at grassroots level and

those within adult football to share their knowledge, experience
and to continually share best practice.

Regardless of whether you have been involved with football for many years, or are looking to get involved,
we hope that our regular scheduled networking sessions led by experienced coach educators and highly qualified coaches
will challenge you and contribute to your continual learning.

These sessions are FREE of charge.

This CPD event for Level 1 & 2 coaches will be held at

Devon County FA, Coach Road, Newton Abbot, Devon, TQ12 1EJ

on Sunday 19 May 2019 - 9.30 am - 1.15 pm

'Transition from 5v5 to 7v7' - primarily for U8 Managers moving to U9 - but open to any coach to attend

Devon FA’s coach mentors will lead an event that will combine classroom activity with an U8 festival – with U8 teams coming into Devon FA to play round robin matches at 7-a-side i.e. the format they will likely be playing at the start of next season.  Prior to the matches we’ll have a look at the challenges of the bigger format, formations and player challenges, and how match days are great opportunities to work with players across the 4 corners (with some ideas for that).  During the matches our mentors will circulate and whilst as coaches you have a go coaching the U8 teams, our mentors will be able to observe, give feedback or offer general advice.  We’ll then return to the classroom for a review of the day, and a chance for you to share and discuss any challenges and learning with other coaches.

Coaches can either come as individuals to this event, or bring their U8 team – however team spaces are obviously limited so if you want to bring your team you must enrol the team here: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/KQSJXSJ and we will confirm if we have space for your team prior to the event.

A number of teams already enrolled are happy for ‘guest’ coaches to work with their players on the day also, and so if you simply want to come by yourself or we do not have space for your team we will be able to link you in with another coach on the day who will be happy to combine with you on the day with their team.

This event is part of Devon FA’s “Week of Football”, running from 19th – 26th May with events at Devon County FA throughout the week.

In the afternoon there will be a second CPD event 'Transition from 7v7 to 9v9' - primarily for U10 Managers moving to U11 - you are welcome to stay for this second event but please book your place online.
