Know Your Format - How might I develop my players across different game formats?
This event is part of a national learning package series which will be delivered across County FAs within the same month. This will include BBFA face to face events, a BBFA webinar as well as FA content available across the country in the form of podcasts, article and a national webinar.
Who it's for:
These events are suitable for any coach working across the grassroots game—whether you are experienced or brand new, coaching adults, or just starting your journey with the U7s. This Learning Package helps coaches understand the changes coming into the grassroots player pathway from the 2026/27 season.

What to expect:
It explores keeping players in smaller-sided formats for longer, introducing 3v3 as the entry point to the game, and delaying the move to 11v11. The goal is to create more opportunities to play, build technical skills, increase player involvement, and develop a lifelong love of the game. You’ll learn the purpose of each playing format, how they support player development, and practical coaching ideas to maximise learning, enjoyment and engagement.
