Project 500 is a new campaign to address the imbalance in the number of male to female coaches, creating a more diverse workforce to drive the growth of female participation in sport.
The project was launched on International Women’s Day (8 March 2013) in recognition of the increasingly powerful role that women have played and continue to play in society across the globe.
Berks & Bucks FA aim to use Project 500 in conjunction with our extensive coach education programme & networks to help build and grow a workforce which better reflects the demographics of our local communities.
We aim to engage these local communities in sport and physical activity and in turn jump-start the creation of a women's coaching network in the UK.
Berks & Bucks FA in partnership with Get Berkshire Active & LEAP will be holding a Project 500 – Networking Forum on Thursday 26th March 2015 – 7-9pm at Berks & Bucks FA County Office (Abingdon).
This forum will provide attendees with:
- An overview of Project 500 by Get Berkshire Active & Leap (Bucks & MK Sport)
- Coaching Bursary Scheme by Get Berkshire Active & Leap (Bucks & MK Sport)
- Career Talks and Q&A by Jackie Bushell (FA Youth Football Officer East & Watford Ladies 1st Team Coach) & Shelley Strange (Academy Recruitment Co-ordinator at Reading FC)
- Future Opportunities
We would welcome female coaches of all levels (beginner to elite) to book onto the forum. The evening will be fully interactive and will be a great opportunity to meet other females with a passion for coaching!
We look forward to seeing you there!
